PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVE
To be customer driven and responsive to their grocery needs, while assisting with efforts to ensure the grocery department’s profitability.
KEY JOB TASKS
Merchandising – Assist in providing attractive accessible displays for customers. Product variety and prices should be reachable and clear for customers to make choices.
Rotation of Product – Daily rotate inventory incorporate the FIFO (First in First out) method on sales floor and backrooms. Remove and record expired inventory promptly advise Supervisor.
Replenish – Re-Stock shelves before each shift, during and at the shift end.
Communication - Communicate daily with customers to meet expectations and with supervisors to share suggestions and to keep abreast of goals and strategies.
Minimize Safety Risks -Thorough clean up of all assigned aisles, cases and shelves and inventory.
Assist with Profitability – Advise supervisor on related matters such as customer requests, reactions, prices, selection and the availability of inventory. Assist with the receiving process ensuring accurate counts. Assist with organizing assigned backroom checking for quantities and advise supervisors.
Loss & Damage, Shrink Intervention
Monitor close dated inventory. Do not over stock inventory. Be conscious of the size of displays such as width, height and depth. Exercise security measures as you maintain visibility in the department. Report any concerns
- High School Diploma
- Computer Literate
- Ability to operate related machinery and perform all associated tasks

Heavy lifting, standing and walking on tile floors. Functioning in varying temperatures. Constant interaction with customers in a quick serve environment.
