Project Description

The Haiti Continuity of Learning (COL) Program aims to improve students’ foundational skills (reading, literacy, and social emotional learning) by building and strengthening the capacity of teachers, schools, and communities with appropriate and needed support in order for learners aged six through twelve (first through fourth grade) can benefit from a resilient education system that delivers uninterrupted access to a safe, quality education. The activity will work in partnership with different actors and stakeholders in the education sector, including the Ministry of Education, and other donors to create synergy, and strengthen coordination in all relevant actions and inventions in the sector, and other relevant actors as it pertains to WASH, safety, health, food assistance, and household level assistance.

Position Description

The Technical Coordinator, in coordination with the Director, will be responsible for promoting appropriate integration, layering, and sequencing of technical interventions within the scope of this activity. The Technical Coordinator will also be responsible for providing technical support, coordination, and programmatic guidance as well as evidence-based input for strategic planning with the Haiti Project Director. They will work with the technical team to provide technical guidance on activities across the TOC to the Haiti Project Director. The Technical Coordinator will support the project team in the planning and designing, implementation and supervision, and possibly further expansion/development of the activity’s technical core components. The Technical Coordinator will foster a positive environment of collaboration with project stakeholders including but not limited to other donors, implementing partners and MENFP counterparts.

Please Note: This position is not eligible for relocation or posting allowances and the salary will be paid in Haitian gourde.

Qualifications

The candidate for the position of Technical Coordinator shall have at a minimum the following qualifications:

Education:

Master’s degree or above in human sciences, preferably education, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, or other humanities.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 10-15 years of professional experience in inclusive education policy in developing countries (distance learning, education policy reform, curriculum development, and community empowerment);
  • Experience managing interventions related to inclusive, distance learning, education policy reform, curriculum development, and community empowerment;
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and leading education and/or at-risk youth development programs, with a focus on positive-youth development;
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with senior government officials, education institutions and administrators; civil society and private sector leaders; international donors; and other stakeholders;
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.

Language:

Fluency in Haitian Kreyol, French, and English, both oral and written.
