Job summary

The Operations Installation Site Manager is accountable for safely executing work on BP Operated sites through implementing the Upstream CoW procedure. The position is offshore 14 days on / 14 days off with current Covid19 protocols converting to 21 on x 21 off, which 7 days is time in quarantine. The Operations Installation Site Manager is accountable for site adherence to the work management procedure. Specific accountability for high priority/emergent work entry to the integrated schedule and the impact on execution schedule. SPA for agreement on 6 week and below integrated schedule against site constraints, management of the operational readiness to undertake work and performance management of execution activities. The Operations Installation Site Manager leads active risk identification and management of operational, personal and process safety risks: works with the OSTL on maintaining the site risk register. The Operations Installation Site Manager will also be responsible for the following:

  1. Manages operating performance against plan, including vulnerability and losses identification and management.
  2. Manages organisational competence and capacity to safely executes activities including site emergency capability.
  3. Behaviours to achieve success, including a continuous improvement culture.
  4. Ensures functional input into performance processes for those with functional deliverables. Identifies capability gaps and puts gap closure plans in place.
  5. Contributes to development of operational plans to deliver on broader strategies, offering technical expertise where needed to ensure operational issues and constraints are proactively managed.
  6. Drives business management process for the installation through the requirements of OMS: including Self Verification, Continuous Improvement, and contractual obligations (if applicable).

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership in demonstrating BP's commitment to policy of "No accidents, No harm to people, and No harm to the environment”
  • Lead offshore team in the delivery of asset performance targets for safety, production, costs, and team development
  • Responsible for assurance that all offshore operations comply with internal policies and practices and external legislation
  • Managing performance, competence, succession planning, training and reward for the offshore team
  • Communication in an open, straightforward fashion
  • Setting both short- and medium-term priorities for operational activities to deliver the agreed asset performance contract
  • Provide leadership in all elements of Operations Excellence
  • Accountable for development and delivery of the offshore component of the asset operating budget
  • Maintain a high level of focus and leadership on delivery of health, safety, and environment targets
  • Assure preparedness for emergencies and executing command and control of emergency situations
  • Provide training, mentoring, and advancing the offshore operations team development in conjunction with HR Best Practices
  • Ensure that the interface and planning activities between the platforms in the SPU are well defined and effectively managed
  • Work with engineering, drilling, and other asset teams to deliver Best in Class operations in safety and efficiency

Essential Education

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or suitable operational management experience
  • Essential experience and job requirements
  • Extensive operating experience, either onshore or offshore, in a number of roles including supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills required to manage major incidents and emergencies
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a USCG OIM License within an acceptable time period
