Responsible for working closely with the Property Manager to provide direct management of the resort maintenance managers and the processes they oversee.
The primary duty of a hospitality Assistant Property Manager / chief engineer is to ensure the smooth daily operation and guest appeal of the hotel, balanced with supporting the needs of the operation with quality maintenance back of house.
𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨:
Participation and leadership in operational meetings relating to maintenance
Oversight of the room’s preventative and restorative maintenance programs
Supervising the maintenance team’s day-to-day operations
Overseeing the installation and maintenance of equipment
Planning, scheduling, and prioritizing maintenance team operations
Ensuring that guests receive prompt, professional, and courteous service
Ensuring that the function and appearance of all hotel facilities and amenities meet standards
Reporting major repairs and items which cannot be repaired immediately to the property manager
Preparing reports on maintenance topics for management
Performing regular property, equipment, and facilities inspections
Coordinating responses to maintenance related inquires and issues
Other duties as requested by management or ownership
𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐊𝐀𝐬:
Ability to work well in a high pressure environment;
• Must have a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience working on minor electrical, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC repairs.
Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment;
Skill in the use of related tools (including hand and electric tools);
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the company;
Ability to adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments;
Excellent organizational and planning skills;
Excellent project and time management skills;
Attention to detail;
Ability to mobilize teams for quick impact maintenance and project cycles
Proven work experience as an Assistant Property Manager or similar position at a luxury hotel property;
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree in Building Maintenance, Technology, or a related field preferred
Driver’s license (essential), CEOE, or Certified Maintenance Professional (CMP) certification preferred.
Compensation will be influenced by the successful candidate’s qualification, experience and skill.
